Description:
VESTAS TECHNOLOGY & OPERATIONS > RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT > LAC OFFSHORE GLOBAL SUPPORT STRUCTURE SOLUTIONS
As a part of Vestas R&D and Product Applications & Control, the Loads and Controls Offshore Global Support Structure Solutions department is responsible for developing future Offshore wind turbine controller software and hardware but also loads and control solutions ensuring optimal performance of our products under all conditions. In this position you will join the team performing integrated load analysis for our offshore projects. The department consists of highly skilled and experienced engineers and assumes full accountability of all aspects of the loads and control solution delivered to the wind turbine development projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MSc. degree in Civil/Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering or similar
- University experience in Machine Dynamics, or structural design, or aeroelastic modelling, or aerodynamics
- University experience in programming (Matlab, Simulink, Python, other scripting languages might be suitable as well)
- University level experience in programming
- Knowledge of aerodynamics and aero-elasticity
- Knowledge of Control theory
- University experience within wind turbine design industry
- Knowledge of basic wind turbine control strategies
Responsibilities:
- Feasibility studies & load evaluations for new offshore projects FND concepts like Jackets, Monopiles etc
- Integrated load analysis (ILA) at different design stages
- Certification of offshore projects
- Part of customer & FND designer discussions along with regional support structure engineers
- Developments of methods, tools & scripts aimed to optimize ILA process
