Make your mark as an Offshore ROV Pilot Technician at Horizon Geosciences!
The ROV Pilot Technician assists the ROV Supervisor in offshore ROV systems resource management, and safe and successful execution of ROV operations.

Your responsibilities as an Offshore ROV Pilot Technician

  • Responsible for assisting the ROV Supervisor with field solutions & resolution of Project complications.
  • Assists ROV Supervisor with the maintenance, repairs & troubleshooting of the assigned ROV systems.
  • Actively participates in all Toolbox talks, Safety Meetings & job briefings for the scheduled ROV operations, maintenance plans.
  • Assists the ROV Supervisor with the administration of all ROV documents which include the Daily Tool box talks, DSRs, Dive logs, Dive Permits, system maintenance documents, system lifting gear inspections & re certifications and actively contribute in upkeep on system inventory covering critical spares and consumables.
  • Actively participates for all scheduled maintenance of the ROV system/s with regular feedback to the Supervisor on improving system condition and on the critical spares and consumables used throughout operations & maintenance.
  • Assists the ROV Supervisor to ensure that all ROV equipment, tooling and any ancillary sensors are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations & safety requirements and also possess their respective maintenance & calibration certificates.
  • Assists in all safety inspections & ROV Systems Audit to ensure that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition and ensures the workshop is kept free of potential hazards.
  • Actively participates in raising any safety concerns-risks & hazards that arise during ROV operations and maintenance & reports to ROV Supervisor for further corrective action and contributes with feedback to assist the ROV Supervisor during formulation of Task Risk Assessments.
  • Performs all ROV duties with strict compliance to HSC Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • Participates in Continued Professional Development and improves knowledge database and experience with various classes/types of ROVs and all associated ancillary sensors such as gyros, bathy/altimeter, CP, boom arms, dual head profilers, multibeam, hydraulic cutters and grinders, marine growth cleaning & MLS tools.
  • Assists with regular ROV Operations Launch & Recovery, safe navigation & piloting ROV to the job task and back safely along with safe & efficient use of manipulators and other ancillary equipment interfaced to ROV
  • Takes full responsibility of all pre and post dive checks on ROV and immediately reports any abnormal activity, leaks, faults & deficiencies to the ROV Supervisor for immediate corrective action.

YOUR QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

You can make your mark as an Offshore ROV Pilot Technician if you have:

  • Bachelors or Higher National Diploma in Engineering preferably Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 2 years offshore experience with various classes and types of ROV over varied spectrum of construction support/diver support & IRM projects from Fixed Installations & DP Vessels.
  • Possesses completion of competency certificates as per IMCA C011 & IMCA C05 Competency guidelines & tables & IMCA R002 Entry Level Competency Guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry Technical Specifications & Standards.
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD is an added advantage.
  • Valid Current OPITO Offshore Medical, H2Sl and Sea Survival Certificates
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
