About the Role:
The OGC Lawyer – Employment (EMEA) is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC). This role will be responsible for working closely with other members of the General Counsel on all employment law matters pertaining to the firm’s attorneys and business professionals located throughout our offices in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia (EMEA), and will provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of employment law subjects, including employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, terminations, capability matters, employment contracts, and commercial outsourcing and supplier contracts.This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of employment agreements, including offer letters and contracts, remote work agreements, variation agreements, separation agreements, bonus agreements, waivers, and consentsCollaborating with the Human Capital & Talent department and other internal stakeholders to address employment-related issues and ensure best practices
  • Monitoring and analysing changes in employment law and providing updates and training to relevant stakeholders to ensure the firm is both compliant and competitive in the industry
  • Coordinating with external local counsel in different jurisdictions to advise on compliance with local employment laws and regulations in EMEA
  • Monitoring and interpreting pending employment law legislation in relevant EMEA jurisdictions, including those with remote workers

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Exhibit the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
  • Display the ability to work in a team environment with a client-service focus
  • Possess superior communication skills, both written and verbal

And you:

  • Are a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in employment law general advisory and litigation
  • Possess prior experience within a leading international law firm, preferably
