    Education: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 1 year of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

  • Previous senior level schedule management responsibilities.
  • Advanced P6 experience.
    Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
    Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Responsibilities:

The Operations Integration Center (OIC) has been tasked with integrating multiple programmatic missions into a single integrated schedule. The Operations Window Manager (OWM) role is centered around managing the integrated schedule. This consists of hosting and leading scheduling meetings, hosting and leading execution meetings, determining and negotiating priority work, deconflicting resources to include people and space, making emergent decisions to execute the mission priorities. The OWM is tasked with managing, negotiating, and communicating the schedule across all individual stakeholders within the integrated schedule. The OWM is expected to utilize their position as a platform for communication and conflict resolution. This position will be a central voice within the ALDWP missions. Their actions directly affect programmatic milestones and are tasked with ensuring the integrated schedule meets production and construction deliverables.
As an Operations Window Manager you will be responsible for coordinating between multiple programmatic stakeholders while managing the integrated schedule for various missions; including schedule development, execution, and readiness. You will be responsible for managing a schedule, for tracking, reporting, and presenting these metrics while leading management meetings with large audiences. You will be the primary spokesperson for schedule status and will report issues to senior level program and facility management.

Duties and Responsibilities of the OWM shall include but not limited to:

  • Communicating with work groups to ensure that activities are integrated and ready to work (by verifying supporting documents and permits are approved) prior to the execution week.
  • Audit scheduled activities through regular field walk downs.
  • Ensure activities are task ready by:
  • Assisting with the work package approval process (prompting SMEs to approve work packages etc.)
  • Ensure that planned outages are aligned and supported as scheduled.
  • Assist Outage Management Team in outage management.
  • Tracking and assisting with parts verification to include verifying that materials are on hand and staged prior to moving an activity to the Lock-in schedule.
  • Ensure that activities are integrated and communicated for affected stakeholders.
  • Confirm resources are available to support all scheduled work in conjunction with Area Controller Operations
  • Resolves obstacles to schedule execution.
  • Drive the schedule during execution week.
  • Integrate efforts of internal, external and subcontract work groups.
  • Manages schedule change control in conjunction with Area Controllers to obtain best utilization of available facility resources
