REQUIREMENTS:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery or equipment, in an oil and gas or construction setting.
  • Wheeled loader ticket considered an asset but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Minimum Valid Class 3 driver’s license and a clean driving record. Class 1 drivers license will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in operating equipment such as fuel trucks, Wheedled loaders, picker units, flatbed trucks, Cement bulker units and other heavy machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to withstand the demands of the job, including working in challenging weather conditions and performing manual labor.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on safety, accuracy, and precision.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear and accurate information exchange.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with crew members to achieve common goals.
  • Valid oil field tickets (Willing to train the right candidate)
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Be proficient with digital software tools that are used for safety documentation, employee status and equipment work orders.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Oilfield Equipment Operator team member at Big Country Drilling, your responsibilities will vary depending on the specific area of support. Your duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the setup of drilling equipment and machinery, ensuring proper functioning of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Operating various equipment, such as fuel trucks, loaders, picker units, flatbed trucks, bulker units and other heavy machinery, to support drilling operations.
  • Conducting pre-operational checks and inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the lead support hand or supervisor.
  • Assisting in the movement and transportation of drilling equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
  • Providing general support to the drilling team, including manual labor tasks, rigging up and rigging down operations, and assisting with the handling of drilling tools/ supplies.
  • Participating in safety meetings, maintaining a safe work environment, and following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Assisting with inventory management, including tracking stock levels, organizing supplies, and conducting periodic stock checks.
  • Site clean-up tasks and lease turnover.
  • Equipment fueling.
  • Supporting administrative tasks, such as data entry, record keeping, and document management.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of drilling activities.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on all support equipment, such as greasing, cleaning, minor repairs, and filter changes.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of new or less experienced crew members.
