The candidate will have a solid quantitative background, expertise in data science and analytics foundations, familiarity with recent developments in the field, and a lifelong love of data. The candidate will be a highly motivated problem solver ready to work with a team of experienced analysts to address geopolitical issues.In this role, you will assist our clients in deconstructing and tackling some of the United States’ toughest challenges, participate in industry and academic conferences showcasing the latest technologies and research in the defense sector, and be given ample opportunity to develop your skillsets and craft your career.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Work alongside open source and geospatial intelligence (OSINT and GEOINT) analysts to increase the efficiency and quality of workflows through automation, data enrichment, and data science techniques• Develop data scraping scripts to pull open-source data automatically• Enrich data through geospatial and non-geospatial processes• Manage data in relational, graph, and other common database formats• Build and maintain data schemas for analyst-curated datasets• Extract structured data from unstructured textual datasets• Build Generative AI applications• Assist OSINT and GEOINT analysts with accessing, visualizing, and analyzing data• Work with engineers to operationalize recurring workflows and tools• Enhance and maintain existing analysis tools• Maintain knowledge of emerging data science and data management trends• Develop and maintain data-as-a-service (DaaS) products in coordination with analysts• Identify complex patterns in unstructured and structured data using AI/ML techniquesRequired Education & Experience:• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Geography, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields• US Citizenship• Demonstrated expertise in Python• Strong familiarity with quantitative and data science Python modules, such as pandas, matplotlib, PyTorch, scikit-learn, seaborn, and NumPy• Experience with relational databases, primarily PostgreSQL• Experience with graph databases, primarily Neo4j• Use of cloud providers and common managed resources, such as object storage• Proven ability to work independently to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, languages, platforms, and systems• Strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and with a team• Knowledge of internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, data exploitation, and commercial- and industry-based databases• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain developed tools and ML algorithms to a non-technical audience• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and tradecraft standards to deliver analytic findings in textual form, graphic annotation, or other formats as directed by the government customer and develop and present briefings to support customer requirementsDesired Qualifications:• Clearance: Active TS//SCI or TS//SCI eligible• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Geography, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields• Strong foreign language skills or aptitude• Demonstrated expertise in ML/AI• Experience with data scraping using Python libraries such as Selenium, Scrapy, and BeautifulSoup• Knowledge of intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT), geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), and open-source intelligence (OSINT)Job Location: RemoteNote:3GIMBALS is registered to operate in the following states: California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
