POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the Executive and Community Relations Coordinator. This crucial role is designed for an individual who can effectively integrate executive support with strategic cross-functional leadership and community outreach. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the BRG President, ensuring the smooth operation of the executive office while significantly contributing to the company’s strategic direction. This position involves active engagement across various business domains, including safety, operations, sales, finance, and community relations.
As the Executive and Community Relations Coordinator, you will be central to BRG’s activities, managing administrative tasks, supporting strategic business initiatives, and leading community outreach programs. Your responsibilities will encompass traditional executive assistant duties, along with supporting various departments in local marketing campaigns, sales strategies, and operational efficiencies. You will play a key role in fostering cross-departmental collaboration and ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives. This role offers substantial opportunities for increased responsibility and leadership within the organization.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, a strategic thinker, well-versed in the Rio Grande Valley and Brownsville community, and a proactive problem solver with a proven track record of managing complex projects and supporting senior executives. You must possess the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of executive support, project management, or operations management
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Must be well versed in the Rio Grande Valley and Brownsville community
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Proficiency in Spanish is required
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire teams
  • Work in fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industries
  • Experience in community outreach and public relations is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executive Support: Provide comprehensive support to the BRG President, including managing the calendar, travel arrangements, correspondence, and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate strategic projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company goals. Facilitate collaboration across departments and monitor project progress.
  • Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute local marketing campaigns and social media initiatives. Analyze market trends to inform marketing strategies.
  • Sales: Support the sales team by acting as the local liaison and contributing to local sales efforts.
  • Finance & Accounting: Assist the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Operations: Support the BRG GM to enhance operational processes and systems to improve efficiency. Assist with reports, presentations, and other administrative tasks.
  • Community Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including local organizations, businesses, and residents. Plan and execute community outreach programs and events to promote the organization’s presence and initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
  • Leadership & Development: Promote a culture of continuous improvement. Identify and pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth, aiming for progression within the organization.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Compile data into concise reports for various internal audiences as needed
  • File and retrieve corporate documents, records and reports
  • Perform general office duties: order supplies and maintain records management database systems, etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
