QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in coaching, teaching, or mentoring teenagers (preferred experience with academic competitions).
  • Familiarity with TOPSS competition structure, standards and topics is a strong asset.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex psychological concepts for a teenage audience.
  • Empathy, patience and motivational coaching abilities.

Skill Development:

  • Enhance students’ critical thinking, research and analytical skills.
  • Foster confidence in public speaking, presentation and knowledge demonstration

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Counseling Psychologist to guide and coach high school students preparing for the TOPSS (Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools) Competition. This role requires a passion for psychology, mentorship and a desire to inspire the next generation of psychologists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching & Mentorship:

  • Provide individualized and group coaching sessions tailored to students’ needs for the TOPSS competition.
  • Assist students in understanding psychological concepts, theories and application strategies relevant to the competition.

Skill Development:

  • Enhance students’ critical thinking, research and analytical skills.
  • Foster confidence in public speaking, presentation and knowledge demonstration.

Resource Creation:

  • Develop study plans, practice materials and assessment tools aligned with TOPSS guidelines.

Support & Guidance:

  • Offer emotional and psychological support to help students manage stress and maintain focus.
  • Provide constructive feedback on performance and progress.
