QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in coaching, teaching, or mentoring teenagers (preferred experience with academic competitions).
- Familiarity with TOPSS competition structure, standards and topics is a strong asset.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to simplify complex psychological concepts for a teenage audience.
- Empathy, patience and motivational coaching abilities.
Skill Development:
- Enhance students’ critical thinking, research and analytical skills.
- Foster confidence in public speaking, presentation and knowledge demonstration
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Counseling Psychologist to guide and coach high school students preparing for the TOPSS (Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools) Competition. This role requires a passion for psychology, mentorship and a desire to inspire the next generation of psychologists.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching & Mentorship:
- Provide individualized and group coaching sessions tailored to students’ needs for the TOPSS competition.
- Assist students in understanding psychological concepts, theories and application strategies relevant to the competition.
Skill Development:
- Enhance students’ critical thinking, research and analytical skills.
- Foster confidence in public speaking, presentation and knowledge demonstration.
Resource Creation:
- Develop study plans, practice materials and assessment tools aligned with TOPSS guidelines.
Support & Guidance:
- Offer emotional and psychological support to help students manage stress and maintain focus.
- Provide constructive feedback on performance and progress.
