About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent GTS Rail Rolling Stock and Mechanical, we are seeking a talented and motivated engineering professional to provide technical support and governance for locomotive and rail mounted vehicle onboard systems. Work will include:
- Provide technical expertise and assurance to improve and protect BHP assets
- Govern the Operation’s blueprint and validate blueprint information at project handovers
- Validate the asset integrity of critical equipment
- Assess and execute engineering requests and assessments
- Set and govern engineering standards and specifications for the Operation
- Provide technical and assessment expertise in support of material risk management
- Govern the management of change process for the Operation’s blueprint
- Conduct operational audits to verify conformance to key operational standards.
The team has a strong focus on technical development, and mentoring from experienced team members will be provided as required.
About You
- An overriding commitment to safety and risk management
- A degree in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering; or other relevant qualifications
- Relevant industry experience
- Good understanding of engineering standards, regulations, and procedures
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a group
- Proficiency and confidence to facilitate meetings and present in both written and oral formats
