    About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent GTS Rail Rolling Stock and Mechanical, we are seeking a talented and motivated engineering professional to provide technical support and governance for locomotive and rail mounted vehicle onboard systems. Work will include:

  • Provide technical expertise and assurance to improve and protect BHP assets
  • Govern the Operation’s blueprint and validate blueprint information at project handovers
  • Validate the asset integrity of critical equipment
  • Assess and execute engineering requests and assessments
  • Set and govern engineering standards and specifications for the Operation
  • Provide technical and assessment expertise in support of material risk management
  • Govern the management of change process for the Operation’s blueprint
  • Conduct operational audits to verify conformance to key operational standards.

The team has a strong focus on technical development, and mentoring from experienced team members will be provided as required.

About You

  • An overriding commitment to safety and risk management
  • A degree in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering; or other relevant qualifications
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Good understanding of engineering standards, regulations, and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a group
  • Proficiency and confidence to facilitate meetings and present in both written and oral formats
