Description:
Cancer Services are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Oncology Team. This is a new role to the Directorate and the successful candidate will play an integral role in driving improvements in patient care.
You will play a crucial role in providing support to the Management Team within Oncology. They will be involved with managing teams and leading on projects and work streams within the Directorate. Oncology deliver services across Kent and the post-holder will be integral to ensuring patients receive their treatment in their right place and at the right time.
You will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the service, contributing to the PTL management and supporting/management of administrative services including the provision of support for future planning i.e structure, absence cover and assessment needs for staff training and skills mix. All of this will be necessary whilst ensuring they remain compliant and that they are cost effective.
Oncology are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively with other services, and with multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure that the strategic service meets and achieves national performance indicators e.g. 28 day diagnosis, 62-day first treatment, and all quality, activity and financial targets and indicators.
The role is challenging so you must be hard-working, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will need good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally in a sensitive and professional manner. The ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.
You will be involved in different aspects of the Oncology pathway, with a real focus on Outpatients, Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy.
