JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for providing support in monitoring & maintaining accurate Inventories, processing non-standard inventory receipts, specialty transactions and cycle counting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of how Inventory works in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to operate scanners, computers and forklift as needed to verify processes and procedures are being followed.
  • Ability to count and perform basic math.
  • Ability to navigate the Epicor system to determine how activity is being tracked to verify process integrity.
  • Ability to multi-task successfully
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively interact in a team environment as well as work independently

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee setup and administration of a formal cycle count program for all inventory items.
  • Perform cycle counts within the Epicor system.
  • Work with plant operations and departments to determine root causes of inventory quantity discrepancies in the Epicor system and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Be responsible for implementation (not design) of process change to record inventory movements more accurately between customers, suppliers, and departments.
  • Perform appropriate receiving / shipping practices and address discrepancies with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead and/or support scheduled full or reduced scope physical counts of inventory at either company facilities or suppliers.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve the overall inventory control system.
  • Perform material analytics to suggest changes in inventory levels.
  • Perform duties of Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager as needed.
  • Operate forklift as needed to verify inventory movements from one area to another.
  • Other duties as assigned.
