Description:

Job description
We are recruiting! Come and work for us and help to Make Nottinghamshire Safe.
It is an exciting time for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) here in Nottinghamshire as we embark on a new term of office following the election of Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Gary Godden in May 2024. Over the coming months we will be working to develop, publish and drive the delivery of a brand new Police and Crime Plan that will set the strategic direction of policing, crime and victim services across Nottinghamshire over the next four years.
To help us undertake this work, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Policy and Scrutiny Manager to oversee the OPCC’s scrutiny functions and help develop successful policy initiatives within a multi-agency environment.
The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing a small team of Policy and Scrutiny officers with responsibilities for portfolios including criminal justice, policing, communities and public scrutiny. The role will be undertaken with the support and under the direction of the PCC’s Head of Strategy and Performance.
Working as part of a small team, the post-holder will provide exemplary service to members of the public and partners, with responsibilities for strategy development, horizon scanning and liaison with key local and national stakeholders and inspectorates. The role is high profile, requiring the individual to work proactively with minimal supervision and is demanding and pressurised.
In return, working in the OPCC offers professional satisfaction as well as the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of Nottinghamshire residents. Working with police colleagues, partners and the public, you will contribute to the delivery of excellent local services that provide effective safeguarding and value for money.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and want our workforce to represent the communities we serve. We encourage and welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities and in particular those that are currently under-represented in our workforce, including but not limited to Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic, disabled and LGBTQ+ candidates.
We hope that you are interested in the role. To apply, please provide an up-to-date CV with a written expression of interest of up to 1,000 words addressing how you meet the essential criteria in the person specification. If you would like to discuss the position in more detail before applying, please contact Dan Howitt on 07887 618533 or [email protected] .
Permanent contract.
Deadline for applications: Sunday 29 September 2024
Interviews: Week commencing 14 October 2024 – please indicate any date preferences on your application
For current Nottinghamshire Police Staff applicants, please note that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner would be a new employer.
