Description:

HOW TO APPLY

You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting evidence form using the attached template as part of your online application. Your supporting evidence form should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. Both documents listed above must be submitted to be considered for this role.
We aim to provide a supportive working environment and are happy to discuss training and professional development opportunities. The Chair of this recruitment panel will be Luke Taylor, Open Access and Repository Supervisor Lead, who can be contacted with enquiries relating to the role (luke.taylor@bodleian.ox.ac.uk). General queries about the recruitment and application process should be directed to the Recruitment team within our Human Resources department (recruitment@glam.ox.ac.uk).
Please discuss secondments with your line manager in the first instance, as you must have their agreement that you can be released for a secondment before you submit an application. https://hr.admin.ox.ac.uk/secondments
Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (BST) on Monday 7 October 2024 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing Monday 21 October 2024

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Open Access and Repository Assistant to join the Open Access Collections Team within the Bodleian Libraries, working to support Open Access at Oxford, whilst supporting the maintenance and development of the Oxford OA Payments system and Oxford University Research Archive (ORA).
The post-holder will be primarily responsible for processing funding applications for academic outputs. For some open access pathways, a fee must be paid. This fee is referred to as an Article Processing Charge (APC) or a Book Processing Charge (BPC). The Open Access Collections Team, within the Bodleian Libraries, is responsible for the administration of APCs and BPCs, and the compliance checks and corrections for these outputs. A secondary aspect of the role will be reviewing material deposited to ORA by Oxford academics. This post provides a great opportunity to transfer the “traditional” bibliographic skills of cataloguing and authority control to the newer and still-developing area of research output data management.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position, working 36.5 hours per week for one year from the start date of the successful candidate.
