Description:

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you have the responsibility for leading the Operations Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders within your area of responsibility to ensure that the highest level of excellence surrounding the operational duties and the delivery of the quality standards of our assets so that they meet and exceed, the expectation of the business, our partners and our Clients.
Provide support and leadership to the Operation Managers and their teams to create and maintain a safe and positive work environment that encourages, openness, career development and employee experiences that’s in line with JCDecaux’s core values, principles and our vision for the future.
What you’ll be doing…
Ensure that your teams implement and deliver all Service Level Agreements and that they are delivered to a quality standard, whilst analysing performance and implementing strategies to improve.
Presenting on best practice and key company information to ensure the wider team are well informed whilst creating a positive working culture.
Promoting our core values personally and through the management team.
Facilitate monthly meetings with the Financial department to discuss, evaluate, monitor and track the budgetary spends across your region for each departmental budget line.
Ensure that all relevant tasks and projects are completed on time and within budget expectations.
Promote consistent negotiation of best value from external suppliers and our sub-contractors to identify opportunities for cost reduction and best price guarantee’s.
Complete regular performance and development interviews with each of your direct reports and ensure performance meetings are being completed throughout your in-direct reports, with the aim to grow each employee’s skillsets and enhance their employment with the company.
Recognise and actively promote the value of individual contribution throughout your team.
Grow and expand relationships with other departments to ensure that technical support can always be requested or supplied, and a professional and pro-active communication line is always achieved.
Conduct regular spot checks and pre-planned quality audits across the team and our sub-contractors to ensure the defined quality standards are being maintained.
Attend regional operational meetings and provide KPI updates to your line manager at agreed intervals.
Facilitate regular team meetings for all operational departments within your region to share and discuss company updates, performance, targets and goals achieved by the team and its individual members.
To maintain compliance checks, maintenance levels and safety procedures for all JCDecaux depots under your management.
Health, Safety & Environmental
Lead all aspects of the Health & Safety for your team and its assets by staying within the current regulations and relevant Company guidelines, ensuring your team are fully trained and up to date with courses.
Coordinate with the logistics and JCDecaux management team to ensure optimum stock levels are kept to meet current requirements.
Lead and improve the performance of all field activities through the Operations Managers, mentoring and developing their skills.
Work within Health & Safety guidelines ensuring that accidents, hazards and near misses are reported immediately.
Working with the H&S department and recycling contractors to safeguard all waste streams are correctly being observed and the waste is being disposed through the correct channels.
To oversee all accident and incident investigations in a timely manner and produce reports for senior management to show how improvements can be made to avoid re-occurrences
To assist with regular safety inspections audits (FRM109’s) across all team members and sub-contractors to ensure the Company H&S policies and its quality standards are being reached and maintained to the required level.
To actively motivate Operations managers, team members and our sub-contractors to create an environment that generates a high focus on Health, Safety and Environmental awareness for continued improvement across the business.
A little bit about you…

Experience

  • Previous experience within an Operations department, working with a multi-discipline team in a challenging environment.
  • Experience of working within the Street Furniture, Roadside, Retail and Rail environments.
  • Personal experience of undertaking maintenance job tasks out in the field.
  • Exceptional understanding of method, materials, tools and equipment for maintenance job activities.
  • Impeccable time management skills.
  • Self-motivated to constantly look to improve H&S processes, quality and performance standards throughout the team.
  • Have excellent investigative and analytical skills.
  • To undertake any such additional duties that are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

Communication & Personal skills

  • A high standard of personal presentation, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, (both written and oral)
  • Ability to deliver high quality products in first class presentation which meets the expectation of the company & it’s partners and clients.
  • A ‘Can do’ attitude, making quick decisions within the realms of competency, experience, knowledge.
  • A flexible approach as this role will require working outside of ‘normal working hours’ as per business requirements.
  • Be an innovator and self-motivator with plenty of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work well and enjoy working in the constantly changing and challenging operations arena.
  • Commitment and confidence to deliver high levels of Health and Safety knowledge & experience.
  • Ability to co-ordinate works with other departments/companies to meet H&S objectives
