Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Director of Bulk Procurement, this position will support the sourcing of bulk products for our COOP network. The ideal candidate should understand procurement processes and supplier management. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth and advancement within the procurement team.
This is a hybrid position, mainly remote, with a requirement of attendance to an office when required. Possible locations: Province of Quebec or in the Atlantic Provinces .
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position requires supporting, participating in, and managing the tasks described below:
- Manage purchase contracts, ensuring products are delivered on time and within established quality parameters while managing discrepancies regarding unreceived products;
- Manage supplier discrepancies, including pricing or terms, resolve errors with suppliers, and update systems accordingly;
- Ensure proper coverage of all the key commodities based on past/present/future requirements and remain vigilante on contract execution. Flag dragging/problem contracts and set in motion an action plan;
- Participate in the analysis of purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and mitigate risks;
- Participate in risk planning and protection, utilization of market swings to lower commodity costs and foreign exchange (FX) management for non-hedged commodities;
- Efficiently handle and manage the price structure and pricing mechanism of all commodities impacting the network (price list(s), restrictions, inventory managements);
- Participate in the forecasting process with our networks to understand supply and demand, pricing and product availability;
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, process implementation, procedure development and governance of best business practices;
- In collaboration with the strategic buyer, support the procurement process by conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities and gather pricing information;
- Monitor inventory position in accordance with Procurement’s supply and demand plan;
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, providing feedback and making recommendations for improvement;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and contribute to the development of procurement plans to meet these needs;
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and organizational policies relating to procurement activities and follow operational procedures.
