We are actively seeking an Operational Excellence Technician for our Castlebar plant. In this role you will work within the Value Streams, and you will be involved in actions which will ensure the achievement of the area’s Key Performance Indicators in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This role will report to the Production Manager within Value Stream with a strong dotted line to the Operational Excellence Manager.
This role will suit a results-orientated candidate will would love to play a lead role in bringing success to the area’s day to day operations and its’ continuous improvement journey.
The candidate should possess business acumen, understanding how each component of their work is linked to the overall site objectives, with an understanding of how Lean tools and processes help to improve business results as well as an appreciation of the importance of people and behaviours in achieving and sustaining success.
The candidate should have the ability to learn and understand business and manufacturing processes quickly.
You will be expected to develop proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Methodologies and the Baxter Operating System to the point at which they can lead implementation of these programs in Value Streams.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Ideally 1-2 years’ experience, post-graduation, in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to manufacturing methods and work practices
- Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to think analytically and innovate to achieve goals
- Change and continuous improvement acumen
- Energy and enthusiasm to drive and support change and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in MSOffice
- Ability to work with colleagues at all levels with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:
- Production Support
- Working with Value Stream Managers and Supervisors to complete the tasks required to exceed or meet the daily, weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
- Supporting new product development and implementation in the area
- Assisting in maintaining a safety orientated culture and GMP compliant work environment
- Working as part of the Value Stream to identify, drive and implement process & safety improvements
- Supporting the deployment of all the company’s continuous improvement initiatives in the area
- Completing change controls, document updates, risk assessments and various other aspects of implementing improvements
- Leading small projects and support larger projects in the Value Streams as necessary
- Operational Excellence
- Support the value streams on various programs such 6S, Kaizens, iCare and Standardized Work
- Supporting the deployment of the Baxter Operating System by being the change champion and deployment coordinator within the Value Streams
- Using problem-solving tools and lean methodologies in delivering day-to-day improvements
- Gather and analyze data to help identify the root cause and corrective actions needed for improvement. Track and trend metrics within the department
- Leading A3 teams in areas such as OEE, Waste and other improvement initiatives
