WHO YOU ARE

  • Proven background in delivering real business change & solutions to complex business requirements through innovative concepts involving multiple 3rd party suppliers and partners, ideally within Finance.
  • Leadership experience and qualities – ability to drive change through directing and motivating cross functional project teams.
  • Practical experience of lean tools and approaches to drive process optimisation and continuous improvement (e.g., Prince2, APMP, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Design Thinking, SAFe Practitioner, Scrum Master, AgilePM, Kanban or equivalent).
  • Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

Responsibilities:

We’re recruiting for an Operational Readiness Manager to join our Finance Transformation team at Vodafone UK.
The Finance Transformation Team is responsible for the management and delivery of significant programmes of change. The Operational Readiness Manager is a critical role, providing the governance and infrastructure to ensure that we operate in a consistent, repeatable, and standardised way. It ensures adherence to reporting and financial calendars, maintenance, and validity of information as well as tracking of Projects and Programmes to meet time, cost, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities will also include:

  • Provide support to Finance Change and Portfolio Managers, facilitating the necessary expertise from Finance Subject Matter Experts, as well as driving quality of requirements and testing to ensure that the capabilities delivered by the projects are adopted by the organisation.
  • Support the evolution of Finance Portfolio Support processes/tooling, enabling better control, quality, and insight.
  • Support the PMO & Demand Manager with ensuring adherence to Finance Portfolio Management & Transformation governance.
  • Own the approach for Finance requirements capture, ensuring quality of requirements.
  • Create and maintain a central ‘pool’ of standard Finance requirements to optimise Finance’s ability to respond to project needs and avoid unnecessary duplication.
  • Own the approach for Finance testing, ensuring all Finance requirements are met pre project go-live.
  • Provide central maintenance and co-ordination of Finance impacting CRs (Change Requests) and Defects, ensuring project/portfolio impacts are funded, managed, and delivered.
