An experienced risk professional, who has worked within the Financial Services or Investment Management industry who can support the overall implementation of State Street’s Risk Management framework, in accordance with regulatory expectations and Enterprise Risk Management policies and guidelines. The candidate is responsible for the Second Line Risk oversight across State Street’s investment services risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Head of UK Operational Risk in relation to oversight and support of investment services business in UK, specifically Global Delivery and Investor Services, ensuring adherence with State Street’s risk management policies, procedures and guidelines. Includes review of new product and client deal proposals.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with ERM and other colleagues to assist with implementation and ongoing development of a sound risk management framework and support of a UK governance program.
  • Support the identification, measurement and control of business risks through utilization of relevant risk management tools (NBPRA, KRI, Loss and Data Incident reporting).
  • Support communication of trends, insights, emerging risks, key issues and reporting to relevant risk forums/committees and across the three lines of defence.
  • Assist with the execution and oversight of Operational Risk Programs (e.g. RCSA, TRA, KRI’s, operational incident capture and management).
  • Analyze risks and recommend appropriate internal control improvements.
  • Review and assess operational losses as reported, including root causes and trends.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience within and sound knowledge of investment servicing industry and activities and related risks.
  • Minimum 2 years operational risk management experience
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong, organization and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Team player.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business area and across the corporation
