We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Operations Risk Consultant to join our Risk team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 Years Operational Risk Management in the 2nd or 3rd Lines of defence or Management of Operational Risk in the 1st line of defence.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Challenging mindset with the desire to understand the impact of operational risk exposures.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload, multitask and work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to influence key business stakeholders; and constructively challenge viewpoints.

Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, this role is responsible for leading implementation and embedding of a ‘fit for purpose’ Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework. The operational of this framework will be consistent with the expectations of a ‘High Impact’ firm under the Central Bank of Ireland’s (CBI’s) PRISM supervision framework, and aligned to the Phoenix Group ERM framework.
This will involve interactions across all areas of the business with a particular focus on Operational Risk Management and best practices in Risk and Control Self –Assessment (RCSA).
A background in 2nd line implementation of Operational Risk Management is desirable. Otherwise, 1st or 3rd line of defence specialism in Operational Risk will be considered.
Responsible for supporting the operation of the ORM framework, including:
- Oversight, check / challenge of Incidents and Near Miss recording with root cause analysis and lessons learned;
- Annual challenge / review of suite of risk policies;
- RCSA facilitation and challenge.
- Operational Risk Assessment facilitation to maintain the Operational Risk register;
- Driving appropriate usage of Risk Administration System.
- Advanced user of the Risk Administration System.
- Working closely with Line 1 Risk & Governance representatives across the business; and
- Support and delivery of training presentations on risk management related topics.
- Assist in the production, development, and enhancement of Risk Reporting for use within the necessary internal risk management committees.
