Description:

Morguard is looking for a Operational Technology Specialist to join our team!
Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure & Operations, the Operational Technology Specialist is the primary liaison and strategic interface between Operational Technology (OT) and the Business. As an Operational Technology (OT) Specialist, you will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems and related technologies within Morguard. Your role will involve safeguarding critical infrastructure, optimizing operational processes, and supporting of the OT systems. This position requires a deep understanding of building automation, cybersecurity principles, and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges. The OT Specialist will work closely with the IT team, operations staff, and other stakeholders to integrate and support OT and IT convergence.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in operational technology, industrial automation, or a related role.
  • Experience with multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery.
  • Proven experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices as they apply to OT environments.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, data communications, and IT/OT integration concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND INTEGRATIONMonitor and oversee the successful delivery of OT services to their business customers. Lead and participate in OT-related projects, including system upgrades, new installations, and infrastructure improvements. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • MONITORING, MAINTENANCE, AND SUPPORTConduct routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot OT systems and networks. Ensure the reliability and availability of OT systems.
  • CYBERSECURITY AND RISK MANAGEMENTImplement and manage cybersecurity measures for OT environments to protect systems from internal and external threats. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • TRAVEL TO MORGUARD’S LOCATIONS (RETAIL, RESIDENTIAL, OR COMMERCIAL)Visit any of Morguard’s various locations across Canada and the US to ensure that their services are functioning well and advise business customers of opportunities for additional services, products, or solutions.
  • DOCUMENTATION OF PROCESS, PROCEDURES, AND TRAINING GUIDESAssist in developing and maintaining of all OT documentation, process, guides, and walkthrough material including infrastructure and configuration documentation, disaster recovery plans, user training documentation, etc. Prepares reports showing network device outages and uptimes. Collects and publishes data to illustrate network performance in support of business decision-making.
  • Any other job-related duties and/or projects that may be assigned.
