To be successful in this role you will possess

  • Experience in the intelligence field in a regulatory or law enforcement environment.
  • Ability to successfully apply skills to complex problems, including the interpretation, analysis and evaluation of a diverse range of data and information.
  • Experience in the use of intelligence tools including Microsoft office, Analyst Notebook, iBase and Power Bi
  • Currently holds, or eligible to obtain, a Baseline vetting level security clearance
  • Experience in the use and application of relational databases and intelligence analysis tools for visual, temporal, and spatial analysis would be highly advantageous
  • Understanding of strategic and operational issues surrounding the heavy vehicle industry

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Operations Analyst you will be responsible for delivering the analysis, intelligence and risk functions at the NHVR across a growing footprint of NHVR jurisdictions to ensure a nationally consistent, effective and coordinated regulatory response that ensures a safe and compliant heavy vehicle industry.

Key responsibilities of this role are: (but not limited to)

  • Lead the identification of and reporting on emerging trends and patterns of non-compliance from NHVR operations that pose a threat or opportunity to the achievement of the NHVR’s strategic, operational and/ or policy priorities
  • Actively collaborate in the development of national regulatory plans and initiatives to facilitate a coordinated regulatory response and achieve effective national outcomes.
  • Participation in inter-agency and cross-jurisdictional information sharing, and the joint development of operational and investigations planning to identify and target emerging risks and issues.
  • Undertake evidence-based research and analysis, review alternatives in relation to policy deliverables designed to contribute and enhance the NHVR’s intelligence-led risk-based approach.
  • Determine the effectiveness and efficiency of program interventions in changing non-compliant behaviour and report as required.
  • Analyse and review operation evaluations that assess the effectiveness of interventions and the corresponding tactics to assist with advancing operational strategies.
  • Interpret and report on risk profiles to give them operational context to enable an effective intervention by on-road operations staff to enable continuous improvement of the implementation of the National Regulatory Model.
