Description:

The purpose of this role is to provide operational management and support to Theatres & Anaesthetics and Pre-operative assessment service delivery within the Clinical Support Services Group. Supporting the Associate Group Manager and Group Management Team in the delivery of a high quality, efficient and patient centered service in line with national and local Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The post holder will provide day to day operational management of assigned clinical services, supporting the development and provision of a comprehensive, high quality, patient centred care service within the resources available.
The post holder is responsibility for the improvement and delivery of scheduling and utilisation targets related to both theatres and outpatients and to support delivery of performance against financial and activity targets.
The role will manage and oversee all administrative teams and functions for the service, including the management of service waiting lists and delivery of utilisation targets.

Key Result Areas and Performance
1. Work with the Group Manager & Associate Group Manager ensuring clear communication and robust operational implementation of policy, business objectives and agreed targets across the department.
2. Support the Group Manager & Associate Group Manager with the operational management of services and supporting continuous service improvement.
3. Responsible for day-to-day delivery of operational performance within assigned services to achieve delivery of national and local targets and the development and delivery of improvement plans.
4. Responsible for assigned budgets as budgetary signature e.g. Admin cost centre budgets.
5. Implement HR and governance strategies and policies within relevant services to achieve compliance with Trust policies and procedures, best practice, relevant legislation and regulatory provisions.
6. Responsible for the improvement and delivery of utilisation targets by ensuring effective and efficient usage of service capacity including Theatres, Treatment Rooms, Outpatients, and day units.
7. Responsible for the management of service administrative staff/teams ensuring Mandatory Training, PDRs and absence are managed in line with Trust policies and procedures.

  1. Support the development, implementation, and review of robust systems to manage risks Linking with the Group Management teams as appropriate.
