L3Harris in Cranfield provide first-class pilot training designed for first-class crews and a comprehensive array of training courses for both airlines and individuals conducted from training centres in the UK, Thailand and U.S.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive candidate to join our Cranfield Academy Flight Operations team as we move toward an exciting new chapter within the organisation.
Supporting the Operations Manager as part of a small team, the role of Operations Assistant is to facilitate the needs of the Trainees and Flight Instructors in conjunction with the daily schedule.

- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).
- Comfortable working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- No aviation experience necessary as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Working with team members to deliver the daily flying schedule, coordinating effectively and efficiently, the aircraft, simulators and the Flight Instructors with the Trainee’s curriculum.
- Effective communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC) departments to book and amend training slots as required by Instructors and Trainees.
- Liaise with other partner agencies for maintenance issues and the refuelling of aircraft.
- Maintain accurate and up to date aircraft records.
- Manoeuvre aircraft using electronic equipment or manual tow bars for parking or as required.
- Ensuring aircraft are secured at the end of the day.
- Oversee night operations and illuminate parking areas when aircraft are manoeuvring during hours of darkness.
- Conduct daily checks to ensure that all equipment is safely and securely stored and is fully functional for the following day.
- Provide general support for Instructors and Trainees where possible.
- Fire Marshal and First Aider duties for the Cranfield Academy (full training provided)
- Participate in ongoing training programs, including on-line courses.
- Reporting to the Operations manager and making them aware of any issues.
