ABOUT YOU
A-Level or other level 3 qualification or equivalent experience is essential as is experience of working in the higher education sector or a laboratory environment as is experience of dealing with diverse customer base and providing customer service including problem resolution and excellent organisational skills, and the ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload. Responsibilities:
The Operations Assistant provides a range of general support functions to the Operations Team and the departments of the Division of Biosciences. The role covers several functions, including laboratory housekeeping services, operation of communal glass cleaning and autoclaving equipment, managing the laboratory laundry service, reporting defects with equipment and infrastructure (and following up on remedial works), providing coordination with contractors (for Operations and/or Estates).
The job involves working as part of a team in this client-facing role therefore it requires a high degree of teamwork and a friendly “can-do” approach to customer service in a busy, high-pressured environment.
