Position: Bagging Plant Supervisor
Department: Operations
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Job Location: 4000 Barrett Road, Prince Rupert, BC V8J 3R2

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated competence and attention to detail with numbers.
  • Excellent in document housekeeping.
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of employees
  • Ability to follow direction and procedures and work independently with flexible work habits, attitude, and adaptability *Good organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, time constraints and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and have their own method of transportation(can’t rely on rides).
  • Clean record (attendance, and warnings)
    * Must clear pre-hire checks: background check (criminal and reference checks) and medical exam
    *
    Must have access to your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license as the terminal is not accessible by public transportation.
    Work Environment : Must be willing to work outdoors throughout all weather conditions

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of the unloading, packaging and loading of the product. Each process is running optimally.
  • Coordinate & Execute rail-car movements and martialing safely and efficiently.
  • Meet with the team at the beginning of every shift to review safety hazards and pass along pertinent information for the shift (tool box talk).
  • Coordinate the crew to start and run the line, delegate tasks and designate employees to positions as needed.
  • Responsible for completing cars unloaded at site as well completing the container with the information regarding lot number, number of bags and seal numbers.
  • Troubleshoot any issues with the line, escalate to the correct contact if necessary.
  • Ensure all personnel are wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Ensure workspace is tidied by the end of shift and inventory is stocked for the next crew.
  • Show leadership through working with and showing the example to the team.
  • Perform other tasks that will vary as per company needs.
