Position: Bulk Plant Supervisor
Department: Operations
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Job Location: 4000 Barrett Road, Prince Rupert, BC V8J 3R2

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated competence and attention to detail with numbers.
  • Excellent in document housekeeping.
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of employees
  • Ability to follow direction and procedures and work independently with flexible work habits, attitude, and adaptability *Good organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, time constraints and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and have their own method of transportation (can’t rely on rides).
  • Clean record (attendance, and warnings)
    * Must clear pre-hire checks: background check (criminal and reference checks) and medical exam

    Must have access to your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license as the terminal is not accessible by public transportation.
    Work Environment : Must be willing to work outdoors throughout all weather conditions

Responsibilities:

  • Operates or learns to operate all transloading equipment, performs work safely and productively, as per company needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe and clean work environment by performing housekeeping and clean up on waste or spilled product complying with all Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs all duties safely in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
  • Coordinate railcar moves with the loader operator to spot the hoppers to be unloaded. Once spotted, unload cars upon supervisor’s instructions and according to the company SOP’s.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the pit, tipper, and inside of the plant.
  • Maintaining inventory, ensuring there is enough supplies prior to loading the containers.
  • Coordinate railcar switches with the supervisor and loader operator for each service as needed maintaining effective communication.
  • Operate support machinery (bulk loading equipment, bobcat, cat forklift)
