Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Business Analyst is a crucial role in the support of our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. This position leverages various analytical tools to improve revenue cycle performance, provide business insights, and support strategic initiatives. The Operations Business Analyst is responsible for creating executive presentations, developing business models for operational leadership, and managing transactional activities that aid the RCM team. Additionally, this position involves conducting root cause analysis, overseeing project management tasks, collaborating directly with executives, and performing ad hoc analytics. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University (Finance, Economics, or Business Degree preferred); Graduate degree, a plus
  • 3+ years of related experience

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power Pivot, Power Query, Power BI, and Tableau
  • Strong experience with other office software systems, i.e., MS Outlook, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Python experience preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings. Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of processes to identify root causes of inefficiencies and provide recommendations for workflow improvements.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings with internal and external team members to define requirements for multiple projects interfacing with array of business stakeholders. Utilize operational and system knowledge to provide recommendations for increased efficiencies and automation.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data (billing, cash collections, account receivable, etc.) to provide insights on trends and recommend solutions based on what is observed in the data.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize weekly/monthly scorecards for all AMSURG ASCs.
  • Partner with the information-technology teams to ensure the reporting and analytics infrastructure is stable and high performing.
  • Presents and explains information in an accessible way to RCM team members and Physician Partners.
  • Gather data and conduct ad hoc analyses as directed by other department team members and assist with the development and presentation of analytical data reports.
  • Develop knowledge of the company’s data structure (including finance data) to allow for easy extraction and manipulation of data to answer various business inquiries.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
