POSITION:

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Consultant to join the C5MI team to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity by analyzing, mapping, and optimizing processes. In this role, you’ll develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures with a focus on leveraging SAP Warehouse Management (WM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems. The position involves conducting detailed process assessments, identifying inefficiencies, providing expert guidance on best practices, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new procedures and technologies. You’ll need strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within warehouse operations.

DESIRED/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Required – bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required - certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Desired – previous consulting experience in a similar role.
  • Desired – previous professional experience includes SAP use (any module).
  • Required – previous warehouse operations experience.
  • Required – must be able to obtain a security clearance to work on government engagements.

Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex warehouse processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Process Mapping: Proficiency in mapping current processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • SAP WM/EWM Knowledge: Some understanding of SAP Warehouse Management and Extended Warehouse Management systems to leverage their full potential.
  • SOP Development: Experience in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures to standardize and improve operations.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee the implementation of new procedures and technologies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within warehouse operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with other relevant technologies and tools that can enhance warehouse operations.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel 25-75% of the time, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with clients and business stakeholders to gather and analyze warehouse management requirements.
  • Conducts detailed assessments of existing supply chain processes and workflows, with a focus on SAP WM and EWM environments, to determine the scope of warehouse operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develops comprehensive process maps that outline each step of current operations.
  • Identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for potential improvement and creates recommendations and actionable strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborates with supply chain staff and management to understand specific operational challenges and requirements.
  • Preparation and execution of client workshops (with stakeholders on various seniority levels)
  • Develops clear, concise, and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all supply chain operations, particularly within SAP WM and EWM frameworks.
  • Ensures SOPs are aligned with best practices and industry standards.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to ensure SOPs are practical, achievable, error proof, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Works with the training team to create training materials and guides to facilitate the implementation of new SOPs.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly in SAP WM and EWM.
  • Proposes and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations.
  • Tracks performance metrics and results to ensure success and conducts regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with SOPs and identify opportunities for further improvement.
