Responsibilities:

  • As the Operations Controller, you’ll plan and direct the accounting activities of the Operations Accounting team for the Northern Pellets business. Your primary responsibilities will supervise, track, and evaluate day- to-day activities of the team, and work closely with the Group Finance teams and directors of North America Finance departments.
  • Within the role, you’ll oversee the Operations accounting teams along with ensuring timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial statements.You’ll be responsible for evenly allocating tasks across the team and driving team performance, along with, assessing current practices/procedures and assemble recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop close working relationships with department managers and directors within Northern Pellet Operations as well as ensuring financial controls and ensuring processes are in place.
  • Manage and oversee monthly transactions for all areas for the operations accounting areas covering the sales and logistics team, fiber accounting team, and Operations accounting team.
  • Partner with multiple teams including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and Technical Accounting to ensure that all groups receive information needed to feed into Group accounts and policies.
  • Support the Northern Pellet Production’s annual plan process, 5-year plan, and quarterly forecast process including overseeing Joint Venture partnership reporting and quarterly board reporting.
