Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview: The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting with the smooth, efficient and successful running of all aspects of the designated Young Learner programmes. This role will also require a year-round flexibility. In the summer, they will be a pivotal role at our Young Learner centres, supporting temporary summer teams run high quality summer programmes.
In this role, between September and June, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the day-to-day preparation and operations of all Young Learner courses and being involved in the recruitment of our summer teams.
Between June and August, as a key leader, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging living and learning environment that fosters personal growth and memorable experiences, ensuring that the programmes adhere to all aspects of the BSC and Manchester City Safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities:
Young Learners Central Team (September-June)
- Be involved with the recruitment and interview process for summer YL team members.
- Establish long term partnerships with a variety of University and school establishments to enable high quality recruitment for all centres
- Work with the Senior Operations Manager to find and secure operational contracts and SLA’s for YL programmes nationwide and internationally (noteably, catering, accommodation and transport contracts).
- Ensure quotes are sourced for new contracts and ensure best value decisions are made.
- Work with the whole Young Learner team to ensure smooth running of the preparation for YL programmes.
- Liaise regularly with all partners and ensure the quality all-round delivery of the course.
- Attend whole team meetings with management team working towards achieving objectives in the YL Action plan.
- Deliver clear and informative learner inductions with the summer teams ahead of the start of programmes.
- Respond to all requests/correspondence from the YL Central Team in a timely fashion.
- Complete any administration tasks, such as payroll, required by the YL Central Team in a timely manner.
