Job Description
The Operations Director is a senior leadership role within the agency reporting to the CEO. You will have overall responsibility of the business operations and delivery model, implementing the business strategy and optimising the organisation’s operational capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a operation role, with proven track record of operating within a global network and project enviroment.
  • Experience in growing and building a department or capability
  • Experience with managing on and off shore teams, both for delivery and distributed development.
  • Experience with managing external 3rd parties, including multi-layer or chained dependencies
  • Extensive experience managing projects for blue-chip firms/clients, including projects in a web/digital consulting environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing a large team of project managers, producers and other delivery specialists
  • Multiple examples of managing successful marketing, creative, technology and transformation projects
  • Experience developing project plans using Waterfall, Agile and hybrid project methodologies
  • Evidence of management of project teams of 50 people or more to successful conclusion
  • Top class communication skills including strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of German is desirable
  • Managed relationships at a senior level within large corporations
  • Proven client management abilities to negotiate scope and finances
  • Experience of crisis management situations with positive results
  • Proven organisational skills combined with very strong meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Self-starter and self-learner, with an ability to motivate others
  • People oriented with a focus on mentoring
  • In-depth understanding of agency finance models and operations

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and accountability for the delivery management department
  • Review and help develop high value and/or high risk proposals, scopes and plans to ensure their viability
  • Supporting with client Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Manage intercompany network operations with on and off shore as well as 3rd parties
  • Resource planning for client projects collaborating between client teams, practices, on and off shore teams and 3rd parties
  • Driving adoption of operational tools in our client teams and practices
  • Define responsibilities, set direction and allocate departmental tasks
  • Seek to maximise revenue and margin across multiple projects/accounts
  • Hold responsibility for the quality of the project deliverables and communications across delivery
  • Continually improve and evolve delivery practise, sustaining a best-in-class team
  • Report on delivery status and risk to agency leadership, providing a snapshot on projects currently being undertaken
  • Explain Digitas’ business focus, targets and guidelines, and provide clarity about the implications of these for your team and the individuals within it
  • Keep teams and individuals updated on Digitas’ performance against our goals. Understand and communicate what it means
  • Draw on client experiences and external trends to advise others on how to best meet our clients’ current and future needs
  • Demonstrate understanding of key business drivers for potential clients. Understand how Digitas services can add value, tailoring business strategies and solutions accordingly
