Job Description

We are seeking a strategic Operations Director who will partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term strategic plans, ensuring operational alignment with the organization’s mission. This role involves integrating and optimizing operations at the BBE level.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute operational strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple departments, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Lead the planning and seamless execution of M&A integrations at the operational level.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational best practices, effective systems, and processes for program management, project management, and knowledge management across all entities, as well as driving process improvements.
  • Use data to identify and address issues across the managed portfolio.
  • Lead a geographically dispersed team, fostering collaboration and a high-performing culture that values diversity and inclusion.
  • Utilize technology to enhance organizational operations, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and high performance within the operations team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to measure operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a COO or similar leadership role, preferably within an international development sector.
  • Collaborative, decisive, and approachable leadership style with excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of success in managing geographically dispersed teams and complex operations, M&A integrations.
  • Gather analyze, define and formalize business requirements and processes into a strategy and lead strategy execution.
  • Strong financial management expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Experience in developing management reports and presenting to the board of directors.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity and global awareness, with the ability to navigate diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • In-depth business acumen, ability to organize work and solve problems at scale.
  • Tech-savvy and adept at utilizing technology to improve efficiency and engagement.
  • Strong data analysis skills and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
