We are looking for an Operations Director to our Hungarian team.
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead, manage and develop the Country Network Operations; Courier Pickup and Delivery, Terminal Handling, Airside Operations, Customs Clearance and Customs Contact. Standardising and optimising procedures and keeping the customer at the heart of your decision making is critical. Providing a safe and secure working environment is a must, whilst also being able to challenge the status-quo! Develop a successful Operational senior management team, who exceed agreed cost, productivity, service and quality standards. As the functional representative for the Hungarian board, long term strategic vision is critical to support the success and overall business growth. Drive the annual budget cycle and cost management activities and ensure the provision of a market leading service to DHL Customers to our Hungarian team.
YOUR TASKS:
- Direct management responsibility for the Country’s; Ground Operations, Gateway, Distribution Centre and Customs personnel, equipment, consumables and facilities (1 main hub, 3 DHL and 9 subcontractor satellite pick-up & delivery facilities & 300 DHL FTE + 250 Subcontractor FTE).
- Define strategy to achieve Country service, quality and cost performance targets.
- Joint accountability with the sales segment for the BU P&L and revenue.
- Manage and support business acquisition and customer relationship management from the Operations perspective for defined customers managed by the Sales Segments.
- Deliver competitive cost and service position relative to the competition by ensuring a best-in-class end-to-end service level, at the lowest possible CPK.
- Ensure the effective implementation and deployment of Regional and Country projects, programmes, technologies and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance to DHL security policies and procedures and Global SOP processes and relevant quality systems.
- Ensure that the team is provided with clear direction and performance standards and is staffed, trained and motivated to meet set targets.
- Support the staff onward performance appraisal process and career development within the company.
- Set clear and measurable expectations and management processes in order to review subcontractor performance across cost, service, and quality.
