There’s No Us Without U. Care with Us, for Today and Tomorrow
There’s no life without water, and at Urban Utilities, we live and breathe that knowledge every single day. It’s why our people are so passionate about what they do and how they do it. And it’s why we need people like YOU. Come shape our future with us and make a real and lasting impact across our teams.
Your opportunity:
Our Operations and Maintenance Planning Group has an interesting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join their AOR Service Recovery Team!
The Operations and Maintenance Planning Group is accountable for the performance and optimisation of Urban Utilities Water and Wastewater Networks to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is delivered to over 600,000 properties and 1.3 million of customers within Urban Utilities service regions. This includes planning the maintenance for Urban Utilities entire asset base. The Group recognises the complexity of the accountability and has adopted a functional matrix structure to deliver performance outcomes.
The Network Configuration team is accountable for defining the baseline configuration of the 9,500km of water network and 9,700km of wastewater network to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, protect public health, deliver an exceptional customer experience, minimise cost in the long run and comply with our regulatory obligations and safe drinking water requirements.
The Operations Engineer role fulfils requirements of the GeoSCADA project by providing dedicated operational support for assurance activities related to the development of standard functional specifications for our water and sewer assets, assurance of site-specific functional specifications created for individual assets, processing of change management requests initiated by the GeoSCADA project and facilitating project handover processes. Reporting directly to the Network Configuration Leader, this role will identify opportunities outside the scope of the GeoSCADA project to improve the operability of our water and sewer networks. This will be achieved by capturing additional functionality not currently identified in Standard Functional Specifications by specific asset types. Success in this role will be measured by the provision of effective and timely operational input in support of the GeoSCADA project rollout.
