DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Operations Finance Manager to join our team specialising in Finance for our Distribution Business Unit in Wellingborough, United Kingdom.
This position is a 13-month temporary contract to provide maternity cover.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Ensure Financial Accuracy: By applying consistent accounting practices and managing financial reporting processes, you’ll ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Drive Business Strategy: As a member of the leadership team, your financial insights will help shape business strategies and drive key business metrics.
  • Optimise Costs: You’ll lead efforts to meet cost and working capital targets, ensuring the entity operates efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Enhance Operational Efficiency: By partnering with business leaders, you’ll create operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvements and growth initiatives.
  • Maintain Compliance: You’ll manage financial support to comply with governmental, regulatory, and local requirements, ensuring the entity meets all necessary standards.
  • Support New Business Development: Your financial analysis and support will be crucial for new business development, helping to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
  • Develop Strong Control Environment: You’ll manage the development of a strong control environment across key business cycles, safeguarding the entity’s assets and financial integrity.
  • Mentor and Develop Staff: By coaching and mentoring finance staff, you’ll foster a skilled and motivated team, enhancing overall performance and development.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.
  • Significant experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience in a small operations manufacturing or distribution centre environment.

Responsibilities:

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

  • Strong Financial Analysis Skills: Ability to Interpret financial data, analyse trends, variances and risks to drive business improvements and ensure data integrity.
  • Expertise in Financial Planning and Forecasting: Utilise financial forecast data to provide projections, analyse trends, and validate assumptions to align forecasts with organisational goals.
  • Knowledge of Financial Regulations: Evaluate and ensure compliance with financial regulations and educate stakeholders on key requirements and implications.
  • Effective People Management and Transaction Approval: Manage a team of three staff members at different development levels. Support the local site with system changes and financial queries. Act as a key approver for financial transactions, including month-end journals, reconciliations, purchase orders, and capital projects.
