Description:

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist integrated well delivery planning activities on assigned pads and ensure all inputs are delivered on time to maintain schedule
  • Manage risks and ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Support regional mapping of target formation and over-burden in support of drilling operations, identification of geo-hazards, H2S analysis, geo-prognosis, and landing zone selection
  • Over-see the active drilling by 24/7 geo-steering team. Role works closely with the geo-steering team to execute the plan and place wells on target
  • Oversee the active drilling activities by working closely with the geo-steering team to execute well plans and targets
  • Support well delivery look-backs and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • You must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Minimum of 3+ years of related experience in a geoscience role within an upstream asset
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related study
  • Professional Geoscientist or Geo.IT accredited with APEGA
  • Preference for prior experience in horizontal well delivery is desired
  • Experience in unconventional resource development is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

Shell Canada is seeking a Geologist or Geoscientist In Training; this geoscience position is part of the subsurface team supporting Canada Integrated Gas Upstream Development. As an operations Geologist, you will be responsible for well planning and accountable for delivery of approximately 30 - 40 wells annually. You will work within an integrated team ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and planning for safe and efficient delivery. This role supports Shell’s Montney developments across British Columbia and Alberta.
