POSITION SUMMARY

Working for CamScott, a division of Canada Cartage, the Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for providing exemplary leadership to the operations staff and drivers. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both FTL and LTL and cross-dock activities achieving both operational efficiencies and providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary leadership in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, transportation environment
  • Assisting in interviewing, training, developing staff skill sets and coaching for all Support Staff and Drivers within their area of responsibility.
  • Manage customer service relationships
  • Scheduling and communicating with staff, including Drivers and equipment resources.
  • Ensuring 24-hour shift coverage.
  • Assisting Dispatchers or front line supervisors in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues and activities.
  • Monitoring service levels to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Ensuring Dispatchers and Drivers have the necessary tools to perform their job functions.
  • Acting as primary operations point person for any billing/payroll issues for accounts within their area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the driver safety and compliance team ensuring CVOR compliance and workplace safety.
