Description:
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Operations Manager will oversee all assigned HERRC Casework Managers within New York City and will serve as the main liaison with the HERRC Operations Director and serve as an alternate liaison with New York City Health & Hospitals HERRC Program Administrator in the absents of the Operations Director. The Operations Manager primary objective is to ensure the smooth functioning and success of all Casework services under your supervision. Overall, as the Operations Manager, you play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Casework services teams by ensuring operational excellence, fostering a positive work environment, and achieving organizational objectives.
OPERATIONS MANAGER EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUESTED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience.
- Master’s degree in social work or other human services field preferred.
- Two years of relevant experience working with people who enter the U.S. seeking asylum.
- 3+ years of experience in program management.
- Solid understanding of immigration laws, regulations, procedures, and benefits/entitlements.
- Experience working with the NYC Health & Hospitals preferred.
- Must be organized as well as, have excellent verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families, Casework Managers, collaborating agencies, and community professionals.
- Strong customer service/ hospitality background, preferably with immigrant populations.
- Able to effectively manage significant administrative and process documentation.
- A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and work independently.
- Able to prioritize and be accountable for timeliness to complete caseloads in a timely manner.
- Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently.
- Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Site Manager, Regional Manager, and/or Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing assigned HERRC Casework operations in a matter ensuring that overall service delivery is provided in accordance with Cherokee’s contract with NYC Health & Hospitals.
- Ensure that staff is properly trained and maintains all appropriate requirements to manage appropriate caseloads and have been granted access to NYC Health & Hospitals technology platform for case management.
- Ensure sufficient operational staffing is always maintained and that clear coordination channels are facilitated between HERRC leadership and Casework staff.
- Proactively ensure the daily reporting of the casework census and other related information and reports is provided to the Operations Director and HERRC’s leadership.
- Ensure staff adheres to all rules outlined in the NYC Health & Hospitals and Cherokee Federals standard of conduct.
- Casework noncompliance should be addressed IAW NYC Health & Hospitals case management procedures.
- Ensure the proper allocation of office space and infrastructure for service provider staff to perform all administrative and service-related functions as outlined in this solicitation.
- Ensure all incidents are managed in accordance with NYC Health & Hospitals published Incident Management Guidelines and Procedures. Including maintain a continuous open channel with the Operations Director and NYC Health & Hospitals Serious Incident Unit (SIU).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
