The Operations Manager role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations with a strong focus on documentation, reporting, and process. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of our operational procedures and enhancing overall efficiency. You will be working with the leadership team of the division across multiple sites as we expand and adopt realtime technology to enhance our workflows. As the Operations Manager you will be reporting to the Head of Operations and working collaboratively with the Operations, Production, Finance, and any other relevant teams to ensure the smooth running of our shows and facilities, be these virtual production stages across the globe or our teams of content creators across our different sites.
Key responsibilities for the Operations Manager

Documentation Management:

  • Create, update, and maintain accurate operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and training materials.
  • Ensure all documentation is stored correctly and is easily accessible to relevant team members.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information and ensure documentation reflects current processes.

Reporting:

  • Generate and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Scheduling and planning of Stage Operational areas of the business.
  • Inventory audit management and support.
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide potential alternative scenarios with their corresponding costs and timelines to assist senior management in decision-making.

Process Support:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of operational processes, ensuring they are efficient and align with company goals.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose options for improvements.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new staff, ensuring they are familiar with relevant processes and documentation.
  • Supports efficient facilities management across our regional and global sites.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed to support operational tasks.
  • Address and resolve operational issues promptly, escalating to senior management when necessary.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all operations comply with company policies, Health & Safety, industry regulations, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and accuracy of documentation and methodologies.
  • Support the development of corrective action plans when deviations are identified.

Essential requirements for the Operations Manager

  • 2+ years experience in Production and/or Operations within a relevant industry.
  • Prior experience in film operations or a related field, with understanding of stage workflows, logistics and production processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.

Desirable requirements for the Operations Manager

  • Experience within a post production or gaming production environment.
  • Experience within an On Set role doing large productions.
  • Logistics and or inventory management experience.
  • Experience On Set with a focus on mo-cap systems and LED volumes.
  • A good understanding of 3D pipelines and file formats.
  • Basic understanding of CG packages like Maya, Max or Blender.
  • Basic knowledge of games engines like Unreal and Unity.
