POSITION OVERVIEW:

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager who is a natural leader with a strategic mindset, ready to take the reins and help us grow. In this role, you’ll oversee key aspects of daily operations, ensuring efficient communication across teams, financial accuracy, and the continued success of the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in construction or a related industry, with a strong track record of driving growth and efficiency.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Project Management Expertise: Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Strategic Thinker: Experience in long-term planning and implementing strategic initiatives to align operational processes with business goals.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels and ensure smooth internal and external communication.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive and solution-oriented, able to identify and address operational challenges before they impact business performance.
  • Technologically Proficient: Comfortable with the use of business management software, project management tools, and financial reporting systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations, or a related field is preferred. An MBA or equivalent experience in operations leadership is a plus.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Mastery: Ensure seamless communication and workflow between customers, office staff, and production teams, driving efficiency in every aspect of operations.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage financial operations, including payroll, invoices, vendor payments, and tracking payments, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Job Estimation & Pricing: Review job estimates and pricing to ensure they reflect accurate cost assessments and align with profitability goals.
  • Project Profitability: Analyze selected projects for detailed costing, making informed decisions about crew deployment and customer profitability.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with key business contacts to support marketing and business development efforts.
  • Budget & Financial Planning: Collaborate with owners and department heads to develop and review the annual budget and conduct quarterly financial analysis to keep the company on track.
  • Team Management: Play an active role in hiring, managing, and developing staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Growth Planning: Contribute to long-term planning for staff development, office expansion, and equipment needs to align with the company’s future goals.
  • Problem Solving: Maintain awareness of all business areas, identifying potential issues proactively and implementing solutions before they impact performance.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership & Oversight: Direct the daily activities of the production teams, managers, and office staff, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Project Management: Monitor all ongoing projects, ensuring invoicing is accurate and up-to-date, and keeping leadership informed on project statuses.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review sales and profitability reports, using data to inform leadership decisions and drive company incentives.
  • Vendor & Purchase Management: Approve major purchases and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with budget goals.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct periodic performance reviews for managers and staff, providing both formal and informal feedback to foster development.
  • Strategic Contributions: Work closely with company leadership on strategic initiatives, aligning operations with the long-term vision of the business.
