Operations Manager for a Craft Distributor

We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Operations and Production Manager to lead a 10-person team, overseeing every aspect of purchasing, importing, shipping, and partner relationships. This role involves approximately 75% day-to-day operations (e.g., managing the team, EDI, BOLs, scheduling freight) and 25% strategic and managerial functions (e.g., pricing, budgets, process improvements).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Forklift certification and Hazmat shipping certification (IATA DGR) preferred.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with major retailers and international production facilities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software (experience with SAP Business One a plus).

• Manage daily logistics tasks including EDI management, scheduling trucks, generating BOLs, and invoicing.
• Oversee purchasing, production, inventory control, and supply chain strategy to ensure optimal stock levels.
• Recruit, train, and lead the warehouse team, fostering a positive work environment aligned with company values.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop and implement effective strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with large retailers, distributors, and manufacturing partners.
• Ensure high customer service standards, proactively addressing issues to maintain client satisfaction.
• Stay current on industry regulations, trends, and technology to implement best practices.
