YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:
To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:
- Proven experience implementing lean methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving Process/A3, SMED, TPM, Standard Work, Kaizen, 5S, etc.
- Experience with developing a Lean implementation roadmap and execution
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business management or related field
- 5+ years manufacturing experience with a minimum 3 years supervisory/management role
- Knowledge of general business software, ERP, and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Ability to operate both tactically and strategically
- Defining the future direction of the plant; fostering a culture of change with a hands-on management style
- Experience with manufacturing optimization and footprint analysis

- Demonstrated results meeting performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to effectively set goals, lead and motivate others

Responsibilities:
THE CONTRIBUTION YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE:
The Operations Manager has the primary responsibility of our success by leading to the efficiency of our organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee daily activities. As an ideal candidate, you’ll have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. You’ll be highly skilled in human resources, finance and production flow. Additionally, you’ll display proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to increase our operational efficiency in the Hughes team.
In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager, setting the stage for your career to soar! This role is your gateway to opportunities for advancement, with the potential to grow within the organization in 3-5 years as you make meaningful contributions to our organizational goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT JUSTRITE:
- Lead safety culture at the facility, work closely with EHS team to make sure activities remain compliant
- Improve SQDCP metrics to world class levels
- Act as change agent and facilitate Operational Excellence whilst ensuring buy in and support across the organization
- Create capacity improvements to match and exceed the growth aspirations of the business through the correct application of Lean methodology
- Ensure the floor has the right parts in the right place at the right time for efficient material flow
- Create SOPs for all processes and train against the standard
- Develop and maintain skills matrices to ensure cross training and skill succession
- Act as coach and mentor to the team and create robust development plans for the team
- Collaborate with operational leaders within group to ensure shared best practice
- Lead, motivate and support a direct labor team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
- Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to communicate with specific directions and procedures to follow in carrying out assigned tasks
- Monitor team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with the standards of operations, ethic and safety procedures
- Recognize the contributions of every team member and encourages them to work together in harmony, sharing ideas and maintaining good relationships in the execution of production tasks
- Track staffing requirements, interview and assist with selecting new hires
- Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
- Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols
- Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
- Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the process flow within the manufacturing floor
