As an Operations Manager you will be a key part of the management team and you will oversee high-level HR duties, liaising with the Recruitment Department to manage depot requirements and setting training standards. You will also be responsible for the analysis and improvement of the organisational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency for your region. This is a field and office-based role covering the Mogden region where you will work to improve customer service and wastewater network performance through effective leadership and the performance management of staff. You will be responsible for the management of the supply chain and analysing performance ensuring that targets are hit.

Job Type: Permanent, full time
Location: Thames Water Iver Depot, Mogden Region (Colnbrook, Berkshire)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, plus participating in the on-call rota
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • You will have strong managerial experience
  • You will be a natural leader and confident in managing as you will have a team of Field Managers, Technical Specialists and an Field Support Administrator looking to you for guidance and support
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  • The successful candidate will be fully proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload
  • The successful candidate must have a Full UK Driver’s Licence

Responsibilities:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

The Operations Manager will:

  • Be responsible for the operational performance management and development of Field Managers, Technical Specialists and Field Support Administrators and associated field resources to ensure both quality and quantity at maximum efficiency
  • Provide on and off-site management of the Field Managers ensuring that you coach and provide feedback to them using reports generated by the central performance team
  • Develop and implement continuous improvements within company processes and field activities to improve customer service and internal visibility of performance
  • Improve and develop internal communications by having active discussions with the Command Centre, TWUL and supply chain
  • Liaise with the Regional Manager to agree daily/weekly field availability and work composition
  • Manage regional resources/vehicle profile issues
  • Manage the complaints and ensure resolution through direct action
  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance is met throughout the business conducting regular site audits within the region
