Based in Donegal, Mantis Cranes Ireland Ltd is a family business within our group of companies with over 25 years experience. We specialize in the hire, sale, and maintenance of Tower Cranes and Self-Erecting Cranes along with other construction related equipment. As part of the company’s continued investment we are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to join our team.


Role Overview:
As the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the company. You will focus on influencing operational excellence, optimizing productivity, and ensuring the business meets customer expectations while complying with health and safety regulations. In this role, you will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, elevate quality standards, and support the company’s overarching business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Operations: Manage all day-to-day operations and related activities, ensuring productivity and compliance with our customer and regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Effectively guide the team to meet company goals, drive performance, and cultivate a positive, efficient work environment.
  • Staff Performance: Manage staff performance and delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and ensure that all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs are maintained in line with company values.
  • Production Optimisation: Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and enhance productivity.
  • Productivity Reviews Lead a culture of continuous improvement using Lean tools and methodologies. Collaborate with department heads to reduce non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
  • Financial and Performance Management: Monitor and manage budget performance to ensure financial sustainability and operational efficiency, contributing to the overall success.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Improve organisational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, maintaining a motivated work environment and implementing innovative changes.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Supervise the management of supply chains and inventory.
  • Foster a Culture of Excellence: Cultivate a culture of productivity and operational excellence throughout the company.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operations management, ideally in the Plant, Manufacturing, or Construction sectors. A degree in Engineering discipline or Construction is desirable.
  • Robust understanding of resource management, processes, and customer services.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, organisation and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in evaluating and implementing efficiency improvements.
  • Resilient problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent technical and IT skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on achieving set results.
