Description:
EXPERIENCE FOR SUCCESS:
- Success in implementing change and attaining effective teamwork while maintaining functional excellence.
- Successful history of change implementation.
- Demonstrated experience working on a high volume and variability production floor.
- Advocate of Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organization.
- Knowledgeable in Food Production Safety.
- Solid knowledge of OSHA compliant workplace safety practices.
- Able to work well with all levels of employees and managers.
- Competent in use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must have strong leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate teams.
- Must also have ability to work cross-functionally with both production and corporate personnel.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, related degree or equivalent experience required.
- Seven to ten years relevant management experience with progressive P&L responsibility in food and/or beverage manufacturing operations, preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Experience with hot-fill, brewing, and/or chilled beverage production strongly desirable.
- SAP experience is desirable.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, ISO), preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.

Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
- Mentors, challenges, and develops personnel in manufacturing organization with emphasis on change management, cross training employees, and driving employee ownership of Company results.
- Pursues world class status in a lean and continuous improvement manufacturing environment.
- Leads and monitors the development, implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and operating guidelines within responsible functional areas. This includes compliance with FDA, ISO, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Leads the integration of new product introductions into production and supply chain operations, working across departments to understand engineering and manufacturing needs and requirements.
- Directs and manages department activities.
- Directs and manages department activities and leadership of facilities management including preventative maintenance.
- Walks the plant daily. Observes supervisor and employee performance to ensure good work habits and good safety habits are followed.
- Coaches Supervisory staff and other personnel as appropriate, in areas of unsafe/unacceptable practices.
- Partners with People & Culture and on-site staffing services regarding personnel issues, hiring and termination.
- Implement proper reports, controls and manage assigned operations in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensures production schedules are established and manpower and equipment are effectively utilized.
- Organizes and balances multiple projects with an ability to lead, motivate, and develop a productive staff.
- Efficiently analyzes problems and provides viable solutions.
- Implements appropriate programs for communicating the status of operations, introduces new methods or systems, solves problems, and is involved in the training and development of existing and new personnel.
- Establishes appropriate site maintenance, security, and sanitation programs.
- Analyzes all phases of production and work with appropriate personnel to institute cost savings, and best practices to ensure efficient processes and procedures. This includes quality control and maintaining labor costs.
- Works with Plant Manager in preparation of the annual budget and the operating expense plan.
- Communicates, leads and offers general direction to Shift Managers on all shifts.
- Provides instrumental role in hiring, training and development of all production workers, ensuring that progress and performance is properly tracked and recognized.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned
