DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Vice President of Academic & Research, the Operations Manager, Person Responsible for Training (PRT) is responsible for administration of all Aircraft Training Organization (ATO) training activities related to the Training Policy Manual (TPM), Training Operations Manual (TOM) and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs). The key role of the PRT is to ensure ATO processes, programming, and operations quality assurance are maintained.
The Operations Manager, PRT will play a key role in the direction, growth and development of the Aviation programs at NLC, while maintaining the integrity of the programs by ensuring that the policies and procedures identified in the TPM, and its Document in Reference are followed at all times. They will support and co-chair the Program Advisory Committee meetings and assist in establishing workload assignments for faculty employees.
They will facilitate curriculum reviews and quality assurance of programs (through reviews and accreditation processes); while searching out opportunities to develop new Aviation programs and the expansion of existing programs.
The Operations Manager, PRT will participate with the Accountable Executive and the Dean, Trades and Apprenticeships in the development of departmental budgets; and will identify funding opportunities, write proposals, and negotiate contracts for assigned programs.
* Travel will be required within the geographical area.
