Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall management and performance of the facility including office and warehouse operations, customer relations, information technology, quality and security. In addition, the Facility Operations Manager is accountable for achieving company objectives, adhering to SOP, productivity standards and cost control goals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • BA (preferred level)
  • Experience (minimum level of direct experience): 10-15 years’ facility manager experience within a 3PL

  • A comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations is necessary. A working knowledge of warehouse management systems is a must. A broad range of management skills is required with emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, commination, and planning. Must be able to interface and communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with partners across the supply chain.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be a string team player with a form, personal commitment toward the business and its customers. Must also be successful in managing effective deployment of resources, systems and personnel to enable achievement of organizational objectives.   • 10 Years multiple facility and shift experience.

  • WMS/RF experience preferably with Synapse.
  • KPI’s management and implementation.

Responsibilities:

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operations:

  • Develop and direct all supervisors and customer service team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility. Oversee all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met. Oversee job assignments and labor schedules. Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management. Focus on continuous improvement and make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations. Improve overall facility profitability.

  • Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards. Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards..
  • Labor Management:
  • Direct the operations of warehouse supervisors and customer service team to achieve prescribed objectives. Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development. Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to supervise, counsel and discipline associates. Working with HR, implement an appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases and terminations.
  • Equipment/Safety:
  • Ensure that procedures are in place for the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment. Direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property. Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed. Report all work-related injuries immediately. Provide immediate medical attention in injured employees as necessary. Ensure compliance with appropriate government regulations.
  • Relationships: Customers:
  • Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers. Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met. Meet with customers to discuss performance against KPIs. Establish customer relations training programs for all front-line personnel.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Ensure current and accurate inventory control for all products.
  • Information Technology:
  • Utilization of necessary warehouse information systems to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse. Ensure that necessary computer software and hardware are provided. Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology.
  • Safety:
  • Ensure the security of the facility, its environs, employees and contents. Conduct regular instruction in good security practices.

  • Fine hand manipulation – typing, writing, may assist with packaging of items
  • Must be able to place outbound calls and answer phones, talk/speak and listen coherently
  • Must be physically able to open filing cabinets and bend, stand, balance, stoop or twist as necessary.
  • Vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Ability to walk around the warehouse to gather information (frequent walking)
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hour
