Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE - OPERATIONS MANAGER

Responsible for the delivery, compliance and reporting of RS America’s Inbound/Outbound warehouse performance, to achieve our OTTP, CoS% and recycling goals, through having the right resources and process in place.
Responsible for ensuring the efficient management and control of the Warehouse Operation while achieving agreed budgetary, service, quality and sustainability levels. Provide an effective and reliable service to customers while meeting all legal requirements. Responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt and storage or picking and dispatching of warehouse materials, to satisfy customer, supplier and business demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic and positive manner
  • Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand requirements.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and/or dispatch of goods
  • Drive and lead with effective use of quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are fully met
  • Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business
  • Plan future capacity requirements on resource, supplies and throughput needs
  • Ensure all automated systems and processes are accurate, and are fully understood and utilized by the warehouse teams
  • Identify process and systems improvements, drive through recommendations for change, by demonstrating the value that can be generated
  • Review ways to reduce waste and ensure that all appropriate materials are being recycled
  • Develop and maintain effective metrics/KPIs, reporting out on performance achieved
  • Ensure policies and procedures for warehouse activities are consistent and support the right behaviors
  • Continuously review ways to aid efficiency, add value and reduce costs as well as delivering continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of security and consistency, to ensure that the warehouse is in compliance of company policies and procedures, to reduce risk of any incidents

KEY OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH IN THIS ROLE

Operating in a fast-paced global FTSE100 organization, through an Americas lens, where operational excellence is a strategic priority.
Exposure to a variety of operational topics e.g. resource efficiency in direct operations, packaging, transport, supplier management, product and solutions offer, and customer service
This role will be exposed to a variety of cross-functional areas of the business that will help develop business acumen and professional growth which could lead to other/future opportunities within the company.
This role may participate in the delivery of projects within the supply chain function with the opportunity to participate in other cross-functional projects throughout the company.

This role reports into the Director of Supply Chain.

  • The role will have multiple Supervisors as direct reports, with an overall headcount responsibility of 75-150 employees
  • c$3-6m annually from control of labor spend, through performance management, hiring and overtime costs
  • c$1-2m annually through effective pricing and consumption of warehouse supplie
