Position: Full-Time, Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our construction projects. This is a key position that requires leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts to ensure seamless project execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction operations management or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on fostering a positive work environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and safety standards.
  • Education: A degree in construction management, business, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications or training are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Management: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the performance of construction crews and staff, ensuring high levels of productivity and safety.
  • Crew & Equipment Scheduling: Develop and manage the daily and weekly schedules for construction crews, equipment, and other resources to optimize efficiency and meet project timelines.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Schedule and manage subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of services and adherence to project specifications.
  • Performance & Project Tracking: Monitor project progress, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Oversee all project documentation, including work logs, permits, change orders, safety reports, and quality control records, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Pre-Job Planning: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders during pre-job planning to ensure the proper allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Billing & Invoicing: Manage the billing process for projects, ensuring that all work is accurately tracked, invoiced on time, and aligned with contract terms.
  • Travel: Speers’ pursues opportunities across the province, we are looking for a candidate that would be willing to travel to remote locations to oversee projects.
