Job Description
Upon successful completion of online assessment and interview, the successful candidate will begin a comprehensive training programme. As part of this training programme there will continuous assessments to measure the progress of the individual as they develop in the role. There will be a final assessment to ensure competency of the individual before going solo in the live environment.
This will be a shift-based role. This role is also a graded position. Please note that should all live vacancies be filled it is our intention to form a panel for this role.
Responsibilities
- Operational planning, across the airport, including stand and gate planning. Ensure that all aircraft will be allocated on stands in a safe manner whilst taking into consideration the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP), Safety Management System (SMS) and Aerodrome Manual.
- Monitor and record all surface movement through the management of Airport Operations Stand Management System (AOS). This will include:
- Airborne / touch down times
- On-block / off block times
- Stand used
- Aircraft registrations
- Towing times etc.
- Work closely with the APOC Team Lead, SDMs and ADMs to provide information on current aircraft operations. Inform of any operation out of the ordinary and advise on any business continuity decisions that may need to be taken. Engage with airlines, handling agents and Air Traffic Control (ATC) to provide information on stand and gate operations to inform of changes to all relevant operational areas. Engage with operational stakeholders to collate all relevant data and information required for the AOP, including resourcing across the business.
- Play a key role in:
- Business continuity
- Emergency operations
- Winter operations and off-plan events (This includes Snow Control Officer role)
- Report on the day’s events in the stand allocation unit daily log to inform APOC operations reporting.
- Operational delivery processes including:
- Processing withdrawal of facilities requests and producing the weekly Operations report,
- Operation of AVDGS system
- Out of hours slot management and ACDM data input.
- Project work to support the development of seasonal stand plans and planning apron works and for exceptional events such as VIP, sporting, and adverse weather conditions.
- Monitor ATC air and ground frequencies. Observe ramp operations, in so far as is practically possible, for issues that relate to safety on the ramp and taking appropriate action.
- Liaise with the Airside Operations Safety Officers and FOD Control Unit as required.
- Responsibility for the continuous review and dynamic update of the Airport Operations Plan (AOP) from D-7 to D+1. Maintain data inputs and storage to a high standard, in conjunction with APOC plan and review team.
- Live updating of KPIs and areas of focus.
- Communicate the daily AOP with operational management, delivery teams and relevant stakeholders.
